Hubris
I started down the color space rabbit hole and got lost. Gamut, gamma, rendering intents, ICC profiles, color calibration, conversion vs assignment, black point, white point, dither, RGB (Adobe, ProPhoto, SRGB), CMYK, Lab, transmitted vs reflected, printed vs displayed, what devices and software are color managed - Toby bet you wouldn’t be reading anymore but I told him that was unprovable because if you’d have stopped we’d never find out. None of that had much of any effect on this photo but it sure did eat up a lot of time.
Toby thought it looked like a nice night in Boston but asked why I couldn’t move the camera over to get the weeds out of the frame. I told him that the ‘weeds’ were the frame and he contended that Ansel Adams didn’t need weeds to make his pictures look nice. I started telling him about composition and the relationship between foreground, middleground and background but he just closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
