Scientists have suggested that the dimming of Betelgeuse, a star in the constellation Orion, may be an indication that it is about to Supernova. Since it is over 600 light years away, if we do see the Supernova it will have happened around 1380 AD shortly after the Black Death and shortly before the end of the Eastern Roman Empire. Esteemed Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson might take me to task explaining that Betelgeuse is still below the horizon at this point but my golden ratio work said this is the correct location for the explosion…
